The Panel Labelling setting in MaxCut determines how panels are labeled in both the on-screen diagram and the job layout report. This helps ensure clarity when reviewing your cutting layouts. You can find this setting in Settings > Layout > Panel Labelling, or access it in the Detailed Setup when running MaxCut for the first time.
You can choose between:
Letters
Numbers
Panel Name
Panel Name + Group Name
In the screenshots below, the Part Name + Group Name format is selected, as this is the preferred choice for most users.

Unique Panel ID
MaxCut can assign each panel in a job a unique panel number (for example, #1, #2) when it is created. This makes it easier to trace panels across layouts, reports, and labels, and reduces the risk of mislabeling during cutting and assembly.
Enabling the Panel ID
A new setting, under 'How would you like to display the unique panel ID?', has been added under Settings > Layout > Panel Labelling.

For new users, this setting is enabled by default.
For existing users, it is disabled by default to avoid unexpected changes to your labels.
Display Options
Once enabled, you can control where the panel number appears on your labels and reports:
Hidden entirely
Shown before the panel name or symbol
Shown after the panel name or symbol
The panel number appears consistently across:
Input Item List
On-screen optimization layouts
Optimization layout report
Label reports
Cutting list reports

For panels with a quantity greater than one, each individual panel receives its own unique ID. Repeated panels in layouts are also correctly linked to multiple IDs.
Selecting the right labelling format makes it easier to identify and organize your panels throughout the cutting process.
